Make sure to add appropriate lower unit oil and replace the water pump if it is cracked, damaged, worn or bent.
Both drive and prop shafts turn. The unit shifts by hand into FWD/REV gears and neutral without any issues. This unit is not the nicest looking, but will get job done as well as the pretty ones.
